Getting out of the Rut

 Jun 09, 2019    By writer@interskynetwork  1452 views

I am wondering how difficult is it to come out of this rut of the 9 to 5 grind. Once you are entrenched in it, it takes a lot of grit, will power and discipline to escape this trap. As can be seen from the statistics all over, not many have it in them to achieve this in their lifetimes. Those who attempt it and succeed are the lucky ones - kudos to them. Needless to mention here that along with sheer grit, you also need to have some luck and good timing as well.

9 to 5 grind

By the way, the ones who never got into the rut in the first place, meaning people who just started their carriers in business, or self employment etc, are the lucky ones I guess, and their quality of life (meaning satisfaction with work and life) appears to be much better than the majority of the folks out there. Of course this can't be generalized as there will still be people who are just as happy with a predictable pay check at the end of each month.

But for a person like me, the greatest thing in life is to have freedom - Time, Location and Financial freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want. There is no liberating feeling better than that in my mind. As you might have guessed by now by the tone of this article, I am yet to achieve it :).

Its like a viscious circle - you toil all day at work and then try to juggle family life, social life and your side hustle to bootstrap it with your work income. Have people done that? Yes, but is it easy? By no means.

If any of you have felt the same, please comment below and let me know your thoughts.
